The Bridge Alfa program includes about 50 investment funds that received 1.5B PLN to support R&D projects in the early stages of development. The essence of the Bridge Alfa funds is combining public funds obtained from the National Center for Research and Development with capital provided by private investors, and the purpose of their activities is to support the commercialization of research results, development works, innovative ideas and modern technologies that are in line with the priorities defined by the National Smart Specialisations. To facilitate cooperation with such funds, it is important to be aware of their specificity and general principles of operation. The bottom line is that the Bridge Alfa program funding is intended for research and development projects, where technological risk is involved. What is a R&D project? What kind of support do the funds offer? What projects are in their area of interest? What do Bridge Alfa investors expect and what limitations need to considered? These and other questions will be addressed by Dominik Czaplicki, Ph.D., Investment Manager in ABAN Fund Sp. z o.o.
