Paperless as a weapon against COVID-19

Introduction – the problem:
Almost every organisation based on paper as an information carrier. We print contracts, invoices, projects, surveys, research results, tests. Every single document that has value for us is physically printed on a piece of paper. Usually it is done, since many people think that the document becomes valid only when a wet signature is placed under it. It used to be like that since antiquity till the present day. Nowodays technological progress, digitization of our life and modern solutions allow us to change the existing norms and habits. In accordance with current law and the benefit to the environment we can use a digital signature.

Less paper in offices means less cut down trees, less harmful impact on nature. Today, ecology is one of the most important trends that changes our daily habits. It is necessary to engage everyone, both large international organizations and smaller, local ones , to provide paperless solutions.

Today, when we are all struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important for each organization not only to take care of its survive. It is also important to ensure the safety of employees and people around. Paper can transmit the Sars-Cov-2 virus and lead to the contagion of any person who has had contact with infected paper. Reducing or even completely eliminating paper documentation can help to stop virus. Therefore, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland, we have been supporting medical facilities and companies in the digital transformation that allows to limit the paper, and then to limit spread of COVID-19.

The offer – the solution:
We have created the IC Pen system, which supports medical facilities and businesses by offering them the ability to create and transmit in real time the documentation in the organization with the legally valid signatures. We have developed a solution that is fully integrated with the largest hospital information systems . Because of that, the documentation from IC Pen is immediately available in the system and allows more efficient work. In many cases, the IC Pen has allowed to seal the systems of medical or office documentation circulation, facilitating full digitalization and elimination of those points in the system, which could not be omitted due to the necessity of wet signatures. Implementation of the IC Pen system made it possible to carry out full digitalization of documentation and its circulation and significantly reduced the risk of spreading COVID-19.
